Straight out of the huge success of his biggest hit in his career so far – Aadu 2 which is still running to packed houses, Jayasurya talks about how the team arrived at a decision to make a sequel to a film which was a theatrical flop. In a career spanning more than 15 years, he has proved his versatility by portraying a wide variety of characters and also went on to win a Special Mention at the 2015 National Awards for his performances in Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam and Lukka Chuppi. He talks about how hits and flops don’t affect him, how he misses certain favourite characters he played, how he views the torrent phenomenon and the theatrical failure of good films like Lukka Chuppi, how he prepares for each character of his, why he does not want to risk his personal freedom for the sake of stardom and also reflects on working with Kamal Haasan in Vasoolraja MBBS.

That was a good interview though I wish the interviewer weren’t so obsequious. Jayasurya came off as a very grounded individual and I really liked his statement about not being ‘that brilliant an actor’. It was refreshing to hear him say that – he seemed genuine.

That was a good interview, guess the absence of subtitles will be a limitation Jayasurya is a very grounded individual and a very likeable actor , he doesnt mind taking up supporting roles or roles which arent very massy or heroic to boost his stardom. i am glad that he has bounced back after a lean period

He used to be an actor with good comic timing, now he is all gone “acting natural acting”. Company of Anoop Meonon didn’t help.( Menon is the worst case scenario “natural actor”). And Jayasurya himself has misgivings that he would have won awards for those natural acts, as a person he seem very ground to earth and likable to the extent that everyone started mocking him calling ‘nanma maram’. Stop doing charity and start acting I say, charity even criminally accused humans and janapriyans do.
