I quite liked this one. aaand she is cuuter without the cap 🙂
Srikrishnapurathe….. is not exactly a good film, but it has some incredibly funny moments. One actress who is really funny, but not in this, is Kalpana . its really sad she passed away so quickly .

“Thanikku serious aayi entho prashnam undu.”
That made my day. 🙂
Seconding MANK on Kalpana’s comic timing. The three sisters were/are all good at comedy – kalaranjini, Urvashi and Kalpana. And yes, Srikrishnapurathe… wasn’t exactly a great film. It was quite a pain, if I remember, but these women were fabulous.

Disclaimer – No offense intended.
Perils of listening to the recently released single from Petta – Namitha looks like she is about to fold up her lungi and break into a kuthu number anytime now !!

Make a list of top ten Malayalam comedies of all time and one will find sreenivasan s in atleast half of them. (Not in this movie though).Feel both kalpana and urvashi were totally underutilized and never got their due.

Kalpana and Urvashi got their due in malayalam films.they didn’t in tamil. urvashi was almost on par with Mammootty and mohanlal in the late 80’s and early 90’s.She showed her range in films as varied as from IV Sasi’s to Sathyan Anthikkad’s. She even turned script writer and producer. In the post 80’s malayalam industry, she is undoubtedly the biggest female movie star. Only Shobhana and to an extend Manju warrier comes close. Kalpana made a great combo with Jagathi sreekumar and they were a major commercial factor in the mid to low budget films. Of course she never graduated to lead roles, but in her space she was prolific.
Regarding Sreenivasan’s presence, well a lot of those movies were written by him. Sandesham, Vadakunokkiyanthram, nadodikattu are all his creations.

That period @MANK was probably Malayalam cinema’s golden period. Some fantastic films were being made with awesome stars. I believe that kind of era may return now with the new age stars like Nivin Pauly, Dulquer, Fahadh Fazil, etc.

I think with 22 female Kottayam r somewhere around that period the renaissance started. There have been some eminently watchable movies. Dulqer, Faahad, nivin and lately tovino, all doing their bit. Not to speak of the lady’s…. Only sore point, they end up in kollywood r tollywood after a couple of good ones and I feel somewhere most get lost in transition.

Nazriya Nazim’s comedy in the rom com Om Shanti Oshana was top notch.
” Only sore point, they end up in kollywood r tollywood after a couple of good ones”
Krishna Prasad, Parvathy said in an interview that she is not getting many offers in Malalayam film industry after she took a stand as a feminist on some issues. Its really so enraging and painful. Is it any wonder that actresses would seek work in other industries ?

Yes, she was perfect!!! My favourite rom-com. So sweet and funny, and almost completely from the rare female POV. Nivin as the foil is just as good and they have way more chemistry than any other young pair for example Dulquer and Nithiya

@Namitha, you are of course reading this, molle, you really growing on me. This episode was very good, mostly because you’ve put in a lot of malayalam phrases and malayalam in my humble opininion is an inherently humorous language, so more of that please. On the other hand, Urvashi speaking English is also comic genius.
