Hello. I wrote in the earlier post as SUPERAWESOME –
But since you addressed the colors here, I’d like to elaborate a bit.
The predominant colors – reds and blues are definitely from the OLD SCHOOL 3D glasses that the boys wear, and darker/lighter shades of those two colors.
Like Mugil and Vaembu or Mysskin’s tsunami interior blues extend to his house as well, like the screwdriver scene)
If you look at a colorwheel, the other colors are just arrived at by adding yellow (The color Berlin wears at the warehouse) When Red and yellow combine, you get the oranges (SO many orange costumes/props) when Blue and yellow mix in correct proportions, they result in Green (the interiors of shilpa’s and Mugil’s houses, for example) and incorrectly result in black (Arputham)
When red and blue themselves combine correctly, you get Cyan – the bright blue! (Shilpa, Leela in Mallu Uncut and the Alien) and so yes, the palette is rather perfect and further fits his idea of interconnectedness <3

^Oh, I missed the plastic covers. They’re also Black. And ofc when all three primary colors combine, you arrive at White – Mr. Manushya Puthran 😀
And so yes, the palette is thematically Super Consistent.

It isn’t clear(at least for me!) why Berlin spies on Vaembu-Mughil. The passport verification dialogues suggests he has already visited their house. Did he suspect something fishy to spy upon? We are shown straightaway Berlin checking with the flat security.
The bed-body scenes @Mughil’s flat should have been better handled?Cinematic liberties? No one, including the security, spotted the body moved into the jeep?
The kids gang (Mutta papps, Gaji, and Paal dabba) aren’t unaware of their friend is admitted in the hospital, right? Leela’s son though asks his friend, at the end, if the other three have seen the movie.
My favorite scenes were the ones featuring 1. Arputham, his mansion, and Ramasamy 2. Subway 3. Kids gang 4. Rasukutty 5. U1’s terrific score@ the police station(sounded like a machine running at the background).

Forget a lay audience, your level of perception and appreciation of the film making art is so refined and advanced when compared to other professional film critics of our country. Does this make you feel sometimes lonely? Because it might be frustrating when you do not find people at your level of passion and intellect providing that “aha” insights on a movie that you have watched.

IMO, the trailer dialogue conveying the concept of the movie is more on an abstractive and conceptual level rather than being literal. The end of the dialogue – fuck ’em all – would mean that life is absurd while problems are subjective and self created. So, even after licking the honey, the end is death. But death being a part of life and not being important on the bigger timeline, it becomes nothing but as absurd as humanity and life itself

#AskBR I have read a book of Sujatha’s titled “Kadavul ullara ” . Super deluxe deals with the same subject . The book is more about science and philosophy . And Sujatha explains about quantum theory and indian philosophies . He even explains Schrodinger experiment . He even gives example which is given in the film about cells and protons . Beauty is Manushya putharan republishes most of Sujatha’s book and he is present in the film . I’m just curious to know whether this book had any influence on Kumararaja to take this film . Atleast the last 15 mins .

Is it possible Mughil’s watch had something to do with the alien? He might not have summoned her but she did kinda save Fahad and Sam. Or was it just an indicator of his character (unpolished in Vaembus words)?

Did anyone notice Samatha’s ex-boyfriend asking money inside a small shop while Shilpa searching for her son ? or it is just my illusion ?!
Also the TV program (background voice when 3 boys re-entering into Mirlani’s house) connecting about the Statue Myskin bearks (how diamonds came inside the statue) that was amazingly done i believe!!

This was wonderful, BR! Thank you!
Also, the questions for the #AskBR are only from Twitter ? I do not have a Twitter handle but would love to put in my questions. I follow the FC South Instagram page and they mostly don’t put up any story/post for #AskBR. Can you please check if they could start having stories for the topics of #AskBR so that questions can be asked from Instagram too?

Don’t know if anyone else has shared this already, sorry for the repetition if it has.
P.S. Why does BR always have to share space with this Abhishek guy for every behindwoods interview?

Agree Voldemort. That Abhishek guy is so annoying – talks too much and has an irritating style of speaking

Abhishek comes across as a show off in most of his videos and when he interviews some celebrity, he comes across as a sycophant. Very difficult to stand him.

Had a different take on the movie being completely devoid of mortality. I differed with you in that I thought everybody else except the cop doesn’t pay for his/her ‘crimes’ because only the cop’s crimes were real ones. Everything else was just mistakes within a particular social construct – extramarital affairs, porn – watching and acting in one, even being trans and the resultant havoc it has in a family has a beautiful new take on finding happiness with a new family construct.
