Great interview, really wish it was longer. Prabas is so refreshingly understated and modest. Would love to see him do a small budget, quick film which is either a love story or a totally unique horror movie like pizza. He would totally fit into a brooding intense lover role like Nagarjuna in Geethanjali

So much of film research has been discussed by BR… I really doubt if any other actor could give similar answers for such detailed questions. Indian film industry is moving into new zone and Prabhas is certainly betting in that direction.

It was a good interview. He comes across as a really nice guy. I am not a fan of his acting, but he has great screen presence and charisma. One thing he keeps on harping is about Saaho being a screenplay film. For his sake, I hope it’s so , though it doesn’t look anything like it. Looks more like a hodgepodge of a lot of Hollywood films, with scenes directly copied from films like mission impossible

Why do I feel your interviews of celebrities outside Kollywood is not as interesting or doesn’t dive deep enough ? This one came out like one of the BW or IG interviews.

Curious to see your review of Saaho. Do you think your judgement/neutrality when reviewing a film is affected by getting to know the people involved more closely just before the release – through interviews like this? Would you feel bad, for instance, in giving a harsh review to a film after you have sat down with the actor/director/writer and had such pleasant conversation just the week before? Just curious. Not wondering for a minute if you will judge a bad film as being good – more a question of whether it affects the tone of the final judgement.

The reviews I’ve read have excoriated the film. Seems like a bloated, overly twisty, over-plotted mess. The producers must have been eager to show off that they could spend money just for the sake of it. Reminds me of a joke by comedian John Mulaney:
It’s funny to me over the summer when these big Blockbuster Action movies come out, and you read about one movie, one of these movies, and it’ll say that it cost something like 100 million dollars, because whenever I read that, I think like, “Yeah, you didn’t need to make a movie with that money. I would have bought a ticket just to see 100 million dollars.” Like, I am at a point in my life where I would wait on a line just to look at that much cash. Like you could just stack it up in a motel room and line us up down the hall. You put some guy out front in a straw hat that’s like, “It is 8 dollars to see the 100 million, or 10 dollars to have your money added to the 100 million.” Ooh, very luxurious!

Also, Baradwaj, if you are reviewing the film, I suggest the title “Mission: Im-Prabhas-ible” 😀
