BR,
To me it looked like that he had “Mankaded” you with the depth in his replies. 🙂
His YT channel already gave a glimpse of his flair to talk and keep viewers engaged

Was interesting to a point (despite my disagreements), until he started going on about “social message” stuff in Shankar films. I mean, I can’t really imagine the sort of regressive society we’d be in if we take the “message” from those movies. Even otherwise, the stuff he’s said about “issues” and “messaging” was rather dire tbh.
I’d anyday take celebs who’d rather not talk/get involved in politics etc than cringeworthy stuff like this. IMHO.

Agree with sorenkierky. Felt that his tangent on social message, responsibility, etc. were a bit forced.

Hi BR
Ashiwn spoke about MMKR. Just a reminder. In 10 days, the movie will be 30 yrs old. Perhaps a blog something on it.

@Tambi Dude:
He did make that askBR about it, though another blog post wouldn’t hurt.
@BR:
Panchathanthiram’s 20th anniversary is coming up in a couple years, and I think it deserves an askBR as well (hopefully sometime before then) .
IMO, it supersedes even MMKR as the greatest Kamal comedy.
I’d be ecstatic if you made one.

Don’t understand how Ashwin’s channel is very different from traditional media.
Ashwin himself interviews only film and cricket personalities to get more eyeballs.

This was good in parts. I enjoyed his conversations with Madhavan, Vishnu Vishal and even Girish Mathrubootham on his channel. His DRS with Ash was very nuanced, very thoughtful, and interesting. I`m not sure why he came across a little too preachy here. With his strong opinions on what cinema as a medium should be, I see him turning Producer soon. Would love to see him answer if he sees himself doing that in a few years!

Ashwin is a smart cookie. He will not risk producing a film.

“Message sir!” Hahah! I was watching BR’s face curiously, knowing how vehemently he disagrees with this. I myself despise the ‘message’ factor in our films.
