Really sad that due to a third lockdown, Master will not be releasing in UK, Canada and France. I’m sure there will be few more countries in the West who won’t have a release.
Lokesh has repeatedly said that the film makes most sense to watch in a cinema so bit disappointed that one of the few times I’m actually intrigued enough to catch a Vijay film at the big screens, COVID has a different plan for us.
BR saar, if you do get another opportunity to speak to Lokesh post-release, kindly ask him what plans are for the West in terms of an OTT release. Many would be prepared to watch an HD copy of the film on Netflix/Amazon but if there’s no communications on this point from Production, I fear a lot of people will watch the film on Tamilgun or other such sites in an inferior quality too.
Really jealous that India will be experiencing this in a couple of days 😂😢

Really enjoyed this interview. Felt like both of you shared such good chemistry. He appreciated your questions and you looked like you’ve badly been wanting to ask these questions for a while. For the first time, I’m looking forward to a Vijay film and may have to wait forever to watch it. What irony!

Wonderful interview. Lokesh Kanakaraj seems to be a very humble person, even after reaching to this height of directing huge stars, unlike the previous collaborators of Vijay. Hope he gains greater successes.
BR sir, this is another great interview, loved it. Except for one silly thing.. Isn’t Martin Scorsese another well established director, and should be considered way above Leonardo and Matt ?

Sir, when can we get this interview with English subtitles? There’s a talk that this is one of Lokesh’s best interviews during these promotions and thus eagerly waiting to see what he had to say!

This interview is a proof of what happens when a critic who loves movies meets a director who is passionate about his craft. As many said, this is a movie I will watch when it becomes available on OTT.

Please enquire about what the OTT plans are for Malaysia, UK, France, Germany, Canada viewers when you meet the team post-release! What a shame that we cannot enjoy in the theatre or at home for this Pongal…

BR Sir – Referring to your question about directors (Martin Scorcese), I feel like we are almost already there (and I am not just referring to super star directors like Maniratnam). If you look at the directors we now have in Tamil cinema, it is such an embarrassment of riches – Vetrimaaran, Maari Selvaraj, Karthik Subburaj, Lokesh Kanakaraj, Sudha Kongara, Vignesh Sivan and many more… I mean, even I am looking forward to Master, only because of how much I loved Lokesh’s work in Kaithi.

Nice interview. Lokesh comes across as a down to earth guy. And i share his love for the late 80s early 90s Hollywood action movies; it was very clear that the climax scene in Kaithi where Karthi comes out with that big gun is inspired by Terminator2. He shoots action scenes very well; it was very interesting to hear how he managed that single take shot in that action scene. I only wish he could have found a better title for the Kamal starrer.
