I keep writing scenes and other random stuff. Thought they’d make for fun blog posts, titled ‘Tanglish Talks’. Do read, share, mock, comment, ring the bell icon, whatever !
SCENE
“My teacher told me, acting–னா மொதல்ல கவனிக்க கத்துக்கணும்.

I really enjoyed this, BR.
Reminded of when thinamalar had a kathaimalar supplement which specialised in this sort of writing.

This is very nice, BR.
I’m now curious about the scenes that were not discarded. Will we be seeing them in some form?

BR — Have you read R.K.N’s “Salt & Sawdust” The protagonist agonizes over which language to write in. she finally decided she is bi-lingual and her writing will reflect that.
The supportive husband asks “To be reduced to a single language in the final stage, I suppose?”
“Why should I?” she said, slightly irritated. “Don’t we mix English and Tamil in conversation?”
He wanted to say, “If you knew Hindi, you could continue a few paragraphs in Hindi too, it being our national language as desired by Mahatma Gandhi,” but he had the wisdom to suppress it…. Another mention of the Mahatma might destroy the slender fabric of peace….
