Lovely interview. I’ve always enjoyed Manju Warrier’s simplicity and humility and she’s a delight here. As one person commented long ago, it would be great to see her and Parvathy being the leads in a mass movie!
My favorite performance of hers is Daya, a great adaptation from the Arabian Nights about a lively, beautiful and intelligent slave girl who uses her wits to save herself and her lover from the villains and disguises herself as a male which helps her become a minister to the Sultan. You don’t need to understand Malayalam to watch this, because the set pieces are so reminiscent of the Arabian nights that you’ll feel like you’re part of the journey! It’s a great showcase of her excellent talent which is in full display and many of you will understand why she’s a superstar!
Also, wanted to give a shoutout to Vishal Bharadwaj for his superb soundtrack which includes the stellar Swargam Thedi Vannore and Sharreth for his lovely background score.

And the movie: https://youtu.be/0o5EZK88wis
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers here!

Finally watched this interview. She’s an amazing actor and I’ve always loved watching her even in the inanest of roles because she was so good in them, but watching this interview made me also like her as a person. She comes across as a positive person and a happy one.
Thanks for talking to her about her process – even if she couldn’t answer it 🙂 and really, really listening to her answers as well. Very few interviewers do, being in a hurry to get to the next question on their list – but this is a facet of your interviews that I have always liked.
