Quite a dull interview actually. Questions that we’ve heard over and over and Mani Ratnam and Jeyendra not looking too interested. Things seemed to lighten up in the last few minutes and it ended.

This conversation is a dud. I think we all came to this mainly to hear Mani Rathnam talk and he just wasn’t interested. It always make for an uncomfortable interview when the answers are shorter than the questions. Worse, Brangan looked totally out of his elements. I hope you are all right Boss- you were struggling to articulate even the simplest of questions. Was it fan-worship or something else that was troubling you, i don’t know. I hope to see a much better interview between you and Mani in the future.

Come on Mank, with the Conversations with BR book, Mani has more than finished his quota of talking for the next 2 decades. Now his wife is a different story though..

A bit embarrassing to watch really for so many reasons:
The banality of the questions.
MR as usual looking as if he’d rather be on the golf course.
AC calling him Mani Sir; just sounded odd.
BR’s attempts to come across as the MR ‘inside’ man (that initial sshhh gesture to AC) as well as his gauchely articulated and cringeworthy question at the end re his own book and a possible ‘sequel’ (“I know a writer…”).
Come on guys, you’re better than this!

When you next interview Mani Ratnam and Gautham, please pose a question about their continuing collaborations with #MeToo accused men like Karthik.
