It is rather interesting (to me) that I was just thinking of Revathi and Kaatathe Kilikkodu today. And then see that you have interviewed her. 🙂 I have always enjoyed her work, and it is nice to see her again. Not to mention that she’s one of the few women who have had the courage of her convictions to speak up.

Kaatathe kilikoodu climax was pretty hard to watch where mohanlal is pushing a very petite revathi around like a rag doll . Each time she fell on the floor when mohanlal hit her, it looked like it really hurt.
Lal revathy love track in this movie is one of my favorites. It was so different from the love stories of those times. That one scene where she is all angry and is banging his hostel room door to physically attack him, he getting away in his bike and her chasing him all frustrated and angry was just perfectly written and acted.
Her character in the movie was feisty , jealous, possessive, and spunky ..very flawed and real. Can’t think of very many female characters written like that in malayalam, in the 80s.
Sad that she didn’t do many malayalam movies.
Priyan wanted her as kalyani for chitram. Would have loved to see her do that role.

Forgot to add…she was crooked, cunning and manipulative too in the movie (lol).
The way she used gopi to get back at lal..pretty toxic.

It was a very good interview. Revathi is a very intelligent and well read woman. I wouldn’t call myself a fan, but i have liked her performances in a lot of films. What she say is right: “we have all the laws to protect us, only their implementation is the problem.” It comes in the wake of Kerala women commission chief asking for creation of new laws to protect women in the film industry. What the hell for?. They cant even implement the laws they already have. The actress attack case is now 5 years old, and it’s only now that the cops are conducting raids and searching for the bigshot in the case.

Wonderful interview, expected nothing less. It may be true that she is great at changing into different people but the real Revathi is a lot like the typical Revathi character of 80s Tamil movies. She herself summed it up well – vivacious and thoughtful at the same time.

I really enjoyed it. It was a pleasure listening to her and her views were very balanced, sensible and derived from an empathetic understanding of situations. And the way you did the interview was excellent as well, as usual 🙂 Thank you

Lovely lovely interview of one of my favorite actresses! If you had to find someone to match up to Mohanlal’s wisecracks those days, the only options you had were Revathi and Urvashi. ‘Kilukkam’ is one of her career-best performances and my favorite scene is not the ‘angamaly’ one, which has passed on to pure comic gold. It is one of these offhand scenes, where she fondly calls Jagathy musically as ‘Kuranga!’ and he, being the king of timing that he is, retorts in her tone ‘endhoo’.
It is absolutely impossible to imagine anyone else playing ‘Divya’ in ‘Mouna Raagam’. The scene where she flatly tells him “enkitta neraya kurai irukku” and goes on to describe her warts and all that, man, oh man! Incidentally, I have a juicy personal anecdote about this particular scene (probably a story for another day? ;))

Enjoyed the interview. Revathi is a pleasure to watch on screen and in interviews. Her filmography speaks for itself and I’m glad she’s still going strong.
Has anyone watched Kakkothikkavile Appooppan Thaadikal? I would add it to her career-best performances.

She was the best. My favourite line is when she tells him his touch is like a kumbili poochi. I just died.
