Oh yes, now Gautham Menon is an actor. I’d forgot.
A comment from YouTube:
BR’s smile widens as he sees GVM 😍
soulmates aren’t they ?😂

I wish I had the same level of persistence in my work as BR finding ways to invite GVM for FC interviews 😀

I don’t care about GVM, watching Devadarshini here makes me happy. I still feel she is undervalued.

I actually like gvm as an actor. Seeing him in Trance was a revelation. He was so charismatic as the villain and I think he has good screen presence and swag to do such roles. I prefer him much more as an actor than as a director. This was a nice chat with BR pulling his leg as a ‘newbie’ actor 🙂
It was nice to see this discussion with wonderful actors who haven’t necessarily done lead roles.

GVM’s motivation for acting seems sketchy..
He repeatedly says he is not doing it for the money. But, what else is there? He doesn’t seem to be one of those who are doing it for the craft..His performance is so GVM-like.. Even he said he did the Goli Soda cameo out of respect as recently as 5 years back and has no intention to be in front of the camera..
Usually, the trend is when the directorial well dries up, the directors turn to acting.. Case in point Bharatiraja, KS Ravikumar. But, Gautham is still a capable director, although not as potent. So, why I wonder.

Such a delight to see Manikandan and Devadarshini!
Always made an impact even in the miniscule of roles. Hopefully, they get their due and we see more of them with good roles in the upcoming movies!

@Ilayaraj: This actually reminds me of GVM’s interview with Vishal Menon from a while back. He got pretty annoyed when Vishal pushed him on”why are your films getting delayed constantly?” Kept saying that there were personal life reasons but that it wasn’t a money issue at all. Anyway, whatever issue it was, I truly hope things are better for him now. Unlike some others, I actually like the fellow and his work and want to see him do well again.

Awesome interview. What was the name of the Mohanlal you mentioned in the last few minutes, did not quite catch it?

So glad you raised the question of non Tamilian actresses in Tamil films! The answers could have been more to the point. They are saying language doesn’t matter but when you persist in exploring the issue it turns out it does matter. But they are actors, I’m sure to the audience it matters more, not just the language but the look too.

The highlight was Manikandan’s Jackie Chan impression! That was a surprise and so good!
