Ramit : Agreed and it seems to be a wordpress thing. My blog too has this much bigger font all of a sudden, which makes the eyes hurt.

Madan, thanks for clarifying. Also I want to add this. In the recent BR interview, KJo says if he is sent to mountains for 3 months, he won’t be productive. In contrast, if he multitasks, he can accomplish more and in a better way. Perhaps that applies to you too :). You do a lot simultaneously. Congrats on the book(s) 🙂

Ramit : Ha! Thanks a lot. But it really only seems that way. I wrote the book when I was on long covid leave. Unable to work and also unable to spend the whole day in bed, I started writing the book instead. I basically work in short and intense bursts. So, most of the Readers Write submissions of mine didn’t take far beyond half an hour to write.
I would basically write one to two hours at a stretch before I would start to feel the words taking longer to come out, at which point I would stop. I would MAYBE fit in another burst of half an hour of writing in a day but no more than that.
I don’t know how to think about my writing and make it better. The words have to burst out in a rush. Maybe that has something to do with my liking for Ilayaraja’s music, lol. But that also means I can’t write all day so I would have no use for a secluded resort. If I am going to log in on BR’s blog during the day, I might as well do it right here in Mumbai than waste money on renting out space in a hill station.
But I don’t relate to what KJ said in the sense that I don’t like cramming up the whole day with lots and lots of activities and then writing under time pressure. As uninspiring as it may sound, I am happiest when I am coasting and working at a pace of my liking. Which means I am still going to work fast but will take short breaks in the middle. I work much more and more productively in the morning hours. So I wouldn’t enjoy having to stay up late in the night. I can do it from time to time when work requires it but I am not a compulsive late sitter. As I said to AnJo, God has been kind, lol.
