This was a nice one! I really dig Rathna’s comedic sense and timing when he writes. It was there to see in Meiyadha Maan and am happy that he is back with this in Gulu Gulu.
I’ve addressed the writer’s recognition part in a previous thread as well. And Rathna hits the bulls eye in this one. Producers and Stars do feel comfortable and secure if the story and narration comes from the guy who is going to make the film.
I feel we need more Creative Producers like Sashikanth from YNOT or Abhinaya Selvam from HappyHigh who know the value of good writing. Soon with corporatisation of production houses, we will have in-house writers (hollywood style) who will analyse and doctor spec scripts from writers or directors.
It’s already happening behind closed doors, it’s just a matter of time before it happens out in the open.
