You hated Comali as hell when it released, but then you kept that all aside and did a nice , fun interview with Pradeep which is just good to watch.

hari prasad: I hope you mean that as a compliment. In fact, he knew I hated the film and we did talk about whether that bothered him. But he was game and I was interested in getting into the mind of a new-gen director. Hence this interview 🙂

I will admit that the trailer is a lot funnier than Comali. I just hope that Pradeep doesn’t butcher his premise the way he did with Comali.

The family audience kaana padam idhu bit that Pradeep said has scared me a lot…
Because it has now become a trend to direct whatever you want and call it ” kudumbangal kondadum kaaviyam” and ” family audience will like this movie”.
Beast which had nothing to do with family sentiments was called a family entertainer movie just because it had Vijay as the hero , I don’t know which family had a blast seeing Yogi Babu not wear an underwear and get stuck in a hole and a psychatrist making lewd comments about “figures”.
I wish Pradeep does an out and out fun adults only comedy movie someday , because Comali and the Love Today trailer had some nice bits of that side and Comali felt like he compromised all that adult , horny stuff to please everyone.

Jayem ends up in an awful lot of films that sound great on the page and somewhere don’t work out on the screen. Even Adangamaru went askew but at least fared better than Nimirndhu Nil and Comaali which was seriously like enna comaalithanam idhu.

Interesting perspective from a young director – especially how he shoots the scenes beforehand with mobile phones for reference. I am not a fan of Comali and also there were some really xenophobic and sexist opinions thrown in (like criticizing nort-eastern people). But its production value was top-notch – especially the songs.

Comali would have been a much better movie and would have been our own version of the 40 Year old Virgin , had the story been just about how a comatose Ravi got laid with f-ing Kajal Aggarwal with the help of Yogi Babu and adapting himself to the world that has changed a lot after he went to coma.

Baddy went to Mumbai to film an interview with someone…. That’s why he didn’t watch Love Today atleast for now…
