Is the title (கலகத்தலைவன்) being a snowclone of (“கழக்த்தலைவன்”)? an intentional choice made by the makers of the film? Nice political choice, if yes:)

@Macaulay – Looks like that. Someone who is not very aware of the difference between kalagam and Kazhagam will assume the latter.

Anyone else felt Udhayanidhi being visibly uncomfortable when BR asked him about politicians using cinema to build an image? A lot of his answers seem pretentious.

Yeah, it looks too obvious. I have a nice aftertaste of the original movie. I don’t intend to spoil it.

The first 5 minutes of the interview was BR trying hard not to mention Vijay’s name, lol.

Watched the movie yesterday and I loved it so much. Surprised that it’s not being discussed. Hasn’t anyone watched? Let me try to articulate my thoughts in the hopes that someone else would join.
This is another movie in the lineup of corporates vs common man movies that we have been seeing of late. But unlike the usual movies, I found this intelligently written and when I thought I have figured out what will happen, the movie manages to surprise. As usual I felt US was flat in his expressions but here it suited the character. The songs (2 IIRC) were good but placed badly. I was also glad the director didn’t force a comedy track with yogi babu.

Tangential thought – Has anyone noticed that almost every major Tamil movie is released by Red Giant Movies? I happened to check their wiki page, and it was stunning to see their 2022 distribution list! I am worried about this monopoly, but I guess this is the future of Tamil movie industry for the next few years at least.

Watched this last night on Netflix and felt it was pretty decent. Highlight for me was Arav as the antagonist. The concept of “predator/ prey” played out well in terms of storytelling and screenplay. The heroine character felt disposable and didn’t do much for me. Was this meant to be a political vehicle for Udhayanidhi Stalin? The dude can’t emote much but since the character seems to be written to be stoic, he seems to be a good fit for these kinds of roles. Reminds me of what Vijay Antony does in most of his movies.
