I hope this is not the final subtitle file we are seeing on the video – https://imgur.com/a/EVNzX7S

This is one of the best interviews of Vijay Sethupathi and probably of any actor I’ve seen. Can’t talk of his acting process any better.. A jewel to your crown!

The conversation was too casual, like his acting

He is certainly a nice guy…but his long answers to every question and trying to add complexity to simple things left me wondering if he is trying too hard

Tejas, seems like the subtitles on these videos are automatically generated, hence the Indian words being subtitled oddly. Would be great to get accurate subtitles created by a person!

Two of the most natural acting talents to emerge in recent times in Tamil cinema, VJS and Aiswarya Rajesh, seem to have the strangest acting inspirations, Prabhu Deva and Roja…

Got to know that VJS is onscreen only for 38 mins in the 2hr56 mins movie Super Deluxe. This didn’t work out in Seethakaathi. Hope it is better in Super Deluxe

Loved the interview. Wished to let it go on and on. VS well compensated for the boring interview of Samantha 🙂

This was surprisingly introspective.
Well done BR.

I just thought of a quirky interpretation for the super deluxe trailer: Anyone, who has loads of problems, personal, professional, loans, chronic disease or even any life threatening problem, if they accidentally find themselves in a theater watching a movie and say “Aahaa” after watching it, then that is…… Super Deluxe! 🙂 Any takers?

Wow! This guy rocks! If he is able to put in so much effort into a character as opposed to his star image WOW!

I absolutely loved this interview. I am a big fan of VS and even I honestly didn’t imagine he was this intense in real life. Basically, you can learn everything you need to in life by listening to this interview 😊
BR sir, could you please share your thoughts about this interview? Did you also feel that this conversation was on a completely different level compared to many of your other interviews (I love them too) ? Did you get a chance to ask all your questions or did you feel he was completely in the zone and just let him express himself?

A good interview but VJS was acting here too. 🙂
All that “my characters speak to me” part were…umm!!! Really??? Eye roll
At least he feels that his USP is his ability to do different types of roles and I am glad he takes up a roll only if the script excited him. He does not do a film because he is great friends with the director. Or because the film would help create a mass image.

VJS is a tad over rated. I watched chekka chivantha vaanam recently where he essentially sleepwalked through it. Maybe it is not his best film. But as BR mentioned he is not a consistently engaging performer(and he doesnt have the voice of a star), but his biggest plus is him endorsing small offbeat films. He is a breath of fresh air in that aspect, the only star who has not taken the usual star route(see Vikram, Surya etc.) and that maybe the permanent redeeming aspect here
