I thought that the tagline “The Resumption” was a subtle but yet another clever idea to keep the audience guessing. The first couple of times I read it as “The Redemption”, which set a very different expectation from the movie for me before watching it. Anyone else felt that way?

I was surprised that Asha Sarath’s character was allowed to be present during the interrogation. Didn’t she resign and move out? Also the police should know better not to harass the elder daughter after knowing what happened the last time. She has a medical condition and I’m sure the police would have known that given all the investigation they did prior to the interrogation. As parents to an ailing child, George and Rani should know better not to put the kid through such situations. That part was little unneeded drama and goes against their characterization.

You know the two almost similar sounding books which was again inspired by a title of same name on Scorscese, Apart from the rich and inspiring content what stayed with me is the fact that @ some point with all his fan-boy adulations for Mr.ratnam , in the book on MR BY BR, BR is once told on his very deep artistic take on his (MR’s)work, MR,-“ There was no such artistry or creative genius involved like its being interpreted by BR“ I am sure MR must have quipped “Appadi Yalla Onnum Ila rangan,
Cut to this new book somewhere in the concluding portions of the book Mr. Chopra when told in a similar context…(About the color of Jackies car….) I remember since i read the book recently , Mr.Chopra in his infamous cold sarcasm says “They might have come up with something even if the car was Blue in color”
BR almost always exhibits a very strong bias towards Cinema in general , He is too sweet to talk ill of it, and while doing that he can make put an average work on to the this imaginary pedestal where as a peer (Even Anumpa Chopra fell for it- and reminded me of the scene from Lage Raho… where Circuit says during the climax scene bhai your intoxication is so strong even i can see maa/babuji) also or a BR’s followers / Fans can easily fall for…. hence i always make it a point i read his review only after i watch the movie / series first.
Dhrishyam 2 did not work for me @ some many levels except for the protagonist performance, Other wise with a rational unbiased take its a below average piece of deliberate , self-indulgent and insecure effort.
