What??? you are in the habit of sending love messages to actors, isn’t that kinda out of line? 🙂
This interview was a little less torturous than VD’s previous ones, especially if you run it at 1.5X. he still takes time to gather his thoughts and express them . he is getting better and more mature i guess, there wasn’t anything controversial or immature in this one.
the ‘The’ thing is a new one and seems to be keeping in with his quirky personality
And I don’t think he is a big star, like you know his name is not taken when we consider stars like even Ramcharan or NTR jr, forget Mahesh or PK. If Liger had worked, he would have been, but it was a disaster and st back his career. So i don’t think his position is that strong as you make it out to be and his insecurity seems to be justified.

Haha MANK. I sent Anand a message asking Vijay to be careful with scripts – because I was so horrified seeing LIGER!

VD is hell bent on maintaining his ‘image’ more than anything in media and in personal life. That’s what Telugu cinema makes you into, an actor becoming a museum piece. I wish he stayed in Bollywood and made more movie and cameos than coming back to Telugu and do crap stories to pamper the heroines.

Enjoyed watching this interview. I wish interviewees don’t say stuff like “I am looking forward to your review/ I am sure you will like the movie” etc. This would guilt the interviewer in case he/she didn’t like the movie. It may also lead to unnecessary accusations in case the interviewer happens to be in the minority who liked the movie.
At least, such stuff should have been removed by the editor.

Hope VD gets a hit soon, otherwise he’ll be A Vijay Deverakonda.

A hit doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. Family Star is getting very bad reviews.

I watched this movie today (a headache) but it definitely feels like Vijay is toiling hard to get into the mould of a commercial action star. In his previous movies he rarely did out and out fighting scenes as a savior. Arjun Reddy was badass with minimal action scenes. Even the fight with Mike Tyson was very un-actiony. Now that he is learning commercial action it’s slow and unexciting.
And to be frank, he is stuck in a limbo about how to be a commercial star and at the same time still carry that boy next door attitude. Sorry, it really doesn’t work that way. Just give up one thing for the other.
Also much of his dialogue delivery feels like he is doing a lengthy TV commercials. Like, just add ‘Ambuja cement’ in the end of a dialogue and the scene becomes an ad. Needs to be a little more impromptu.

Well, if it is any consolation, Family Star follows the exact same screenplay order of Liger and emerges as a trainwreck that’s better than Liger. Guru gets defeated by his own sishya even at making bad films, now that’s a downfall.
Having said that, with the right scripts, I see The Vijay Deverakonda acing hero-centric scripts like a pro. He’s got it.
